About

You and me—we have something in common. I can tell. Maybe you have a big heart for animals and wonder what it’s like to foster kittens. Maybe you have big dreams, but your chronic illness seems be the constant obstacle in your pursuit. More specifically, maybe you have Idiopathic Hypersomnia or narcolepsy or another sleep disorder and need someone to relate to. Maybe you want to learn more about what it means to be a humanitarian and what it looks like to be a disaster volunteer for the American Red Cross. Maybe you live in a small, economically challenged state that no one outside its borders  understands but you love it fiercely anyway. Or maybe you love Jesus, but you were hurt by the church or by other Christians and you’ve struggled for many years not only with forgiveness but returning to God. Whatever our similarities, whatever brought you to my blog: welcome. If you stick with me long enough, this Jesus-loving, cat-fostering, chronic illness-fighting West Virginian who works in disaster response at the American Red Cross and has an unhealthy obsession with Universal Studies for a 40-something might just share something with you that is helpful.
