…Faith Is Messy

Faith is messy.

But grace is beautiful.

God knew we would fail in our attempts to have a relationship with Him and serve Him. Over and over and over.

He knew we would sin, even after forgiveness for the last transgression.

He knew we would get busy in our daily lives and be distracted by what’s happening in the world and we would forget Him.

He knew we would experience things that would lead us to take our eyes off of Him. Neglect reading our Bible. Feel too tired to pray. Suffer from chronic illnesses and things like ADHD that make these things difficult.

Papa God knew that even covered by the grace given through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we would still fail.

And yet – AND YET – He still created us to have a personal relationship with us.

Jesus knew, and He still chose the cross.

Can you even imagine that kind of love and grace?

So if you think God is at mad at you because you’ve been missing church or neglecting your Bible or you just can’t muster up the mental focus or wakefulness to spend time in prayer, you’re wrong.

God is not mad. He knew these things would happen. He hasn’t turned His back on you. In fact, Jesus is right there with you, right beside you, walking through these struggles with you.

Even if you’ve taken your eyes off Him, He hasn’t taken His eyes off you.
